Children

We offer areas that are especially interesting to curious minds — our Tabor Woods, the Trout Ponds Prairie, and King's Corner properties, which feature varied landscapes, flora and fauna. It is in these areas that we offer our School to Nature programs. You can find out more about these programs here. Studies have shown that children learn to appreciate the land and environment into adulthood if they're exposed to it regularly and at an early age. We want to ensure that the next generation learns to love the land as we have, by providing kids with plenty of interesting green spaces to explore.

Geocaching

If you enjoy geocaching, you will find some well-hidden ones at Tabor Woods, Trout Ponds Prairie, and King’s Corner. Some of our members have already found these and we hope you enjoy your hunt as well.

Horses

On any given day, you can expect to find equestrians enjoying our trails. We're very fortunate to have nearly 30 miles of riding trails available for our use and we encourage visiting riders to enjoy them as well.

Riders are asked to wear a helmet and exercise caution at all times when using our trails. Horse trails also cross private land and some landowners require helmets.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome on our hiking trails, provided they are leashed at all times. It’s especially important to keep your pet on a leash and under your control whenever you encounter a horse. Most horses are very comfortable with dogs, but if a dog suddenly comes down a trail, seemingly out of nowhere, it could easily spook a horse. This can be very dangerous for the rider. We ask that you keep your dog at your side, exchange pleasant greetings so both horse and dog know you’re friendly, and let the rider pass quietly.

We hope you will enjoy yourselves on the Caledonia Conservancy trails, and ask that you respect private property and treat nature as well as it treats you. If you'd like further information, please contact us.
